Upcoming
SCAVMA Events
SCAVMA Meeting -
8/23/07 - 6:00 PM
At the first SCAVMA meeting, we will be introducing
the various organizations at the College of Veterinary Medicine and the new
officers. We will begin eating dinner at 5:30 PM in the Pegasus dining
room, followed by the meeting at 6:00 PM. We hope to see you there!
AVID Microchip Lab -
9/1/07 - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Thanks to AVID, we will be hosting a microchip lab
in the small animal hospital on Saturday, September 1st starting at 10:00 AM.
The lab is open to pets of veterinary students, faculty, technicians and vet
tech students. AVID has provided the
microchips for FREE, however, to raise funds for the JOSH project, there will be
a charge of $5.00/patient. Any and all pets are welcome, but we do ask
that our equine friends register for the end of the day. If you have a
family member who would like to have their pet microchipped, AVID has provided a
discounted fee of $15.00 for the chip and registration along with a $5.00
donation to the Josh project. The goal of this
event is to teach vet students how to properly place and register microchips.
If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please email Ashley Allen.
Registration will take place the first two weeks of classes and sign up sheets
will be posted in the MDL.

The race will be held on campus
starting at 8:00 AM on
Saturday, September 15th. Participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt
and goody bag. The race is open to all Mississippi State students,

There, you will find more information on this national day and learn more about
the impact of rabies on a global level.
